21

Is the drinking age in the US too high? Most places around world have a lower drinking age of 18 or don't enforce a drinking law at all.  If the age was dropped would it reduce some of the novelty that goes along with underage drinking?  It might also allow people to learn how to drink more responsibly and safely and reduce the amount of alcohol poisoning and accidents that occur when kids go off to college and are on their own for the first time.
One interesting thought: 18 year old kids can go off to the far corners of the globe with a gun in hand and come face to face with with enemy armies, but when they return home they can't sip on a beer.

RIP Andy Irons

Though it may not make the front page of the paper in northern California, the surfing community was hit hard Tuesday afternoon with the news that 3-time world champion Andy Irons had passed away.  The 32 year old, world-class athlete, leaves behind his parents, brother Bruce, and his wife who is pregnant with their first child.  Apparently, Irons began feeling symptoms of fever and dehydration while in Puerto Rico for a contest.  He felt so ill that he decided to skip his last two heats of the contest and fly home to Hawaii.  After a layover and Dallas, Irons felt too ill to board the plane and decided to stay the night and fly home the next day.  He was found in his hotel room in the morning.  Irons symptoms mirror those of Dengue Fever which is a viral disease transported through mosquitoes.
The virus is prevalent in the tropics in remote and developed areas and effects an estimated 50 million people each year.  The disease has become an epidemic in more than 100 countries.

Mullets

Are mullets not the most badass hair cut?  I mean come on, nothing beats it.  It's all business in the front and a raging party out back. They add instant credibility to whomever sports one.  When you see one you know immediately that that person means business and is gonna get straight to the point but once the work is done is more than ready for a good time.
In sports, mullets tend to bring extra strength and skill to the player.  Their performance is increased tenfold just like Sampson.  Honestly, I don't know why more people don't realize this and utilize this untapped power source.  There are a few notable mullets in sports these days, such as Jared Allen, Evan Longoria and Troy Tulowitzki.  Tulowitzki's mullet powered him to 15 home runs and 40 rbis in the month of september.  The results speak for themself.
