Trying to Make it Through Finals

Finals are now upon us. Time for library parties and all nighters trying to finish that ten page paper your teacher gave you 4 days to write, not to mention the three other tests you have to study for as well. This is also the time when students turn to pills such as adderall. Drugs such as this help students to focus more on their studying as stay awake longer. It seems to be becoming an epidemic at this school as over the half the people I know take some kind of drug to help them make it through finals.

JC Transfer

Being a junior college transfer myself and playing a sport, I have the inside scoop on what the experience is like.  The transition itself is not really that difficult because jc students have done it going from high school to juco.  The biggest thing a transfer athlete has to deal with are the preconceived notions that junior college sports are so far behind Division  1.  In reality, with the exception of the top 20 D1 teams, the top junior college teams can compete right along side the rest of D1 schools.  My 2009 Diablo Valley College baseball team made it to the state championship had three players drafted and 6 pitchers that could throw 90 mph.  That team could have easily competed against Santa Clara and in my opinion could win.  Another key example is Evan Peters, SCU's staring second baseman last year.  Peters transfered from Delta College, my old rival, and came in to D1 baseball and made a strong impact right away.  He needed no time to transition to a faster or better game because the level of jc ball that we played in compared to division 1.

Let it Flow

Nothing says a good time like hair pieces.  People just get in a happy mood when they put one on.  It's hard to get upset or not joke around when you look like a creep from the 70s.  Pieces should be an essential part of every party because they make everything better.  Plus the chicks really dig them, it's the weirdest thing. guys with pieces are not left alone all night.  They're like a new age aphrodisiac.  Ol' Katie B knows a little something something about pieces too.  Follow this link to read her story.
